4 Facts About Our Unique Laguna Beach Vocal Lessons
If singing seems to be a passion for your child or teenager, Laguna Beach vocal lessons are a fantastic option to consider. At Los Rios Rock School, we provide exceptional vocal lessons for Laguna Beach students, with an interesting twist. Here are a few important facts about our music program.
1. We Provide More Than Most Music Schools
At most music schools or during private lessons, a student will spend about 30 minutes with the instructor, although some schools do offer 45-minute lessons. At Los Rios Rock School, our monthly tuition includes a weekly, private 60-minute lesson with one of our expert vocal instructors. During these lessons, the instructor will work on improving vocal range, tone and performance skills. But that’s not all . . .
2. Students Perform Live At Top Local Venues
While vocal lessons are the perfect way to help a child or teen improve the quality and range of their voice, these lessons are more fun if these new skills can be showcased. Not only does your tuition include the weekly private lesson, your child or teen also can participate in our Live Program.
Students in the Live Program are organized into groups where they develop set lists, practice songs during weekly jam sessions/rehearsals and then perform these set lists live and on stage. Los Rios Rock School students also perform at some of Orange County’s top music venues, including the House of Blues, Stillwater and the Coach House, as well as on our own private stage, The Lobby.
Live shows take place about six to 12 times per year, and these shows include concerts with a range of musical styles as well as shows with a special theme, such as our unique Christmas and Halloween events. We also have a Classic Album Series for our advanced students, where they practice and perform all of the songs from a famous classic album. This series has included albums such as The Beatles’ “Abbey Road,” Queen’s “A Day at the Races,” as well as hits from Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and Van Halen.
3. Lessons Are Fun & Flexible
While practicing the correct way to breathe and working on scales is certainly an important aspect of vocal lessons, it’s not particularly exciting. This is why the instructors at Los Rios Rock School teach customized lessons using music that the students truly love. Our instructors can teach using virtually any genre of music, including rock, pop, jazz, R&B, rockabilly, country and much more.
If your child needs instrumental music lessons as well as Laguna Beach vocal lessons, we can accommodate that, as well. Many of our students will split their lesson, and spend half of their time on one instrument and the second half on another instrument. You might spend 30 minutes on vocal instruction and the rest of your lesson working on piano skills or another instrument.
Our team of instructors can teach virtually any instrument including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano & keyboards, clarinet, flute, saxophone, ukulele and more. And, of course, students can showcase both their vocal skills as well as their instrumental music skills on stage at our live music shows.
4. We Offer More Than Music Lessons
In addition to our instrumental music and vocal lessons for Laguna Beach kids and teens, we also provide songwriting courses and music production courses. Our facility boasts two recording studios, including a full professional analog recording studio and a secondary digital studio. Your child or teen can learn how to write, record and produce their own original music. We have helped students produce and release original albums, and often showcase our students’ original songs at our live shows.
We also offer an AP Music Theory class for our advanced students. This course provides students with the instruction necessary to prepare for and take the AP Music Theory exam. This class, led by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music Composition, focuses on analysis, part-writing, dictation, sight-singing and many other advanced music skills.
