Tustin Vocal Lessons With A True Rock Band Experience
If your teen or child loves to sing, you might be searching for Tustin vocal lessons. While there are many excellent vocal instructors out there, few of them can offer the experience you’ll find at Los Rios Rock School. We provide expert vocal instruction as well as providing students with plenty of live performance opportunities.
The Lessons
While you might remember your own music lessons as a bit dreary and dull, we don’t believe that music lessons need to be boring in order to be successful. While we teach all of the basics, we do so using music that students truly love. Whether your child loves classic rock or show tunes, we can teach them using songs that inspire them. Students are far more likely to practice when they are excited about the subject, and our instructors can teach virtually any genre.
Your monthly tuition includes a weekly, private 60-minute lesson with one of our expert vocal instructors. We have six vocal instructors on staff, all of whom can help your child or teen improve their vocal range and tone, as well as working on performance skills. Our instructors also can teach a variety of instruments, so if your child also has a desire to learn piano or guitar or another instrument, we can schedule combination lessons where students spend half of their time on vocal instruction and the other half learning an instrument. Our instructors can teach all types of guitars, piano & keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, clarinet, flute, drums and much more.
The Live Shows
Of course, once a student has spent a few weeks improving your vocal skills, the next step is to showcase those skills in one of our live shows. In addition to Tustin vocal lessons, our students perform at top local venues including the House of Blues, the Coach House, the Vault, Stillwater and on our private stage, The Lobby. During these concerts, our students play all of the instruments and provide all of the vocals in front of sold-out crowds.
Your tuition includes the weekly Tustin vocal lessons as well as participation in our Live Program. We organize the students in groups based upon ability, create set lists and practice during weekly jam sessions. Concert set lists might include a selection of songs from a variety of artists or we might feature a special theme, such as our Halloween and Christmas shows. Additionally, our advanced students have the opportunity to audition for our Classic Album Series. During these concerts, students perform all of the songs from a classic album such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road, Queen’s A Day at the Races and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
Songwriting & Production
Our facility is stocked with top-of-the-line new and vintage gear, and the kids can use it all. This includes the same guitars and drums their favorite artists use, and we also have two professional recording studios on site. Students who take our songwriting and production classes learn how to write, record and produce their own original music.
AP Music Theory
For our advanced musicians, we offer music theory classes and our AP Music Theory class is led by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music Composition. We are an accredited music school, and this class prepares students for the rigorous AP Music Theory exam, which is taken toward the end of the course in the spring.
