Unique Lessons
Too often, students are excited about starting piano lessons, but become bored quickly as they spend weeks practicing scales and dull songs such as “Three Blind Mice.” Our approach is a bit different. We teach use a performance-based and song-based system where students learn how to play the music that they love. Within just a few lessons, your child or teen will be able to play a favorite song or songs. We can teach Orange County piano lessons using virtually any genre of music, including classical, country, pop, rock, blues, rockabilly, R&B, folk or anything else your child loves.
Your monthly tuition includes a private 60-minute lesson with a professional instructor. While many music schools offer only 30-minute or perhaps 45-minute lessons, we believe that a full hour each week is more beneficial for students. Additionally, we make lessons fun and often will spend some time on music theory and then head into one of our live rooms where a student and instructor can enjoy a jam session using the best professional and vintage music gear.
Students also have the option of setting up combination lessons, allowing them to focus on more than one instrument. For instance, your child might want Orange County piano lessons and also want to learn to play the drums or another instrument. We can teach just about any instrument, including all types of guitars, drums, clarinet, saxophone and more. We also offer vocal instruction, so your child or teen is welcome to spend half of their lesson on the piano and spend the remainder working on their vocal skills.
Live Concerts
Of course, what’s the fun of learning how to play piano if you don’t get to show off your skills? Your monthly tuition also includes participation in our Live Concert Program. For this program, we organize students into groups and they meet weekly for jam sessions, practicing set lists for our upcoming live shows. These shows, which are held six to 12 times per year, are held either on our own private stage, The Lobby, or at top venues around Orange County such as the House of Blues, Stillwater, the Coach House and the Fonda Theater to name a few.
Support For Artists
For students that wish to write and record their own original music, we also offer songwriting and production classes. Our facility includes two professional recording studios, and several of our instructors are experienced engineers, one of which earned a Grammy award for music engineering. Helping students create original music is one of our passions, and our production equipment is equal to what you would find in the best professional studios.
AP Music Theory Classes
For our advanced music students, we offer an AP Music Theory class. We are an accredited music school, and students can earn college credit by taking this course and then passing the rigorous AP Music Theory exam. This class is taught by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music Composition.
