The Orange County Rock School Difference
A wise man (Ludwig van Beethoven) once said, “Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy.” While we certainly agree, we know that motivating children and teenagers to practice an instrument can be tough. That’s why we’ve created our Orange County rock school to be just a bit different than a traditional music school.
Our song-based and performance-based approach to music allows students to learn using music they love. After just a few lessons, they will be able to play a favorite song and within a few weeks, they will be performing live at top local music venues.
At Los Rios Rock School, your student tuition includes a weekly, one-hour private lesson. After a few weeks of lessons, your child or teen will be organized into a band, enjoy weekly practice sessions with his or her bandmates and then perform at venues such as the Coach House, the House of Blues and Stillwater. The lessons, the practice sessions and the big shows are all included in the monthly fee.
Our state-of-the-art Orange County rock school is filled with the best quality, professional-level equipment and the kids can learn to use it all! They can learn to set up equipment for a show and how to use professional production equipment. Each of our instructors is a professional musician in a working band that has produced albums. They can share their knowledge of production, performing at live venues and songwriting, as well as teaching virtually any instrument. They also can teach your child or teen using any genre of music they love, and this includes pop, rock, country, rockabilly, blues, classical, jazz, gospel and more.
We can teach acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, piano, keyboards, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, ukulele and much more. Of course, we also offer vocal instruction as well as a songwriting class where students can learn a variety of songwriting and production techniques, as well as basic music theory. For those who wish to delve deeper into the world of music, we offer an AP Music Theory class that will prepare students to take the Advanced Placement Music Theory examination.
Not only do students at our Orange County rock school learn how to play an instrument, their level of confidence will skyrocket after each live performance. They also will meet new friends who share their deep love for music. Our supportive team of instructors has created a highly inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable and welcome.
