Rock Out With San Juan Capistrano Vocal Lessons
For parents with a child or teen that always seems to be singing, both night and day, help is out there. By help, of course, we mean vocal lessons. At Los Rios Rock School, our San Juan Capistrano vocal lessons aren’t your ordinary, run-of-the-mill lessons; we kick it up a notch.
Our tuition doesn’t just include basic San Juan Capistrano vocal lessons, students also get to show off those vocal skills at live rock shows. These shows are held throughout the year at top OC venues such as the House of Blues, Stillwater and the Coach House. We also host concerts at our private stage, The Lobby.
Our Lessons
Your monthly tuition includes a private, hour-long lesson each week with an expert vocal instructor. We have five vocal instructors on staff, each of whom can help your child expand their vocal range, improve tone and vocal technique as well as working on style and performance skills.
Our philosophy is to teach using music your child loves as well as introducing them to new artists and genres. We can teach virtually any genre of music, including rock, pop, country, rockabilly, R&B, jazz and even using standards and Broadway hits. It all depends on what your child or teen truly enjoys.
Additionally, if your child or teenager wants more than variety than vocal lessons in San Juan Capistrano, we can accommodate that as well. Many of our students will “split” their weekly lesson and spend half on vocal instruction and half working with another instrument. This includes, but is not limited to, guitar, drums, piano, keyboards, saxophone, ukulele, clarinet and more. Our instructors can teach virtually any instrument, making it easy for our students to expand their musical knowledge.
Our Live Program
Tuition also includes participation in our unique Live Program. We create student groups, based upon ability and experience, develop set lists for our rock shows and practice each week during jam sessions. The instructors and students work together to create these unique set lists. Some shows will feature a specific theme, while others will include a mix of songs and styles, including some original numbers created by our rock school students.
Our facility is stocked with the finest new and vintage gear, and the students can use it all during rehearsals and at our live shows. Our top-of-the-line gear includes everything from our five custom DW drum sets to our BadCat tube amplifiers and an assortment of quality electric and acoustic guitars.
Many of our students play multiple instruments, and the live shows provide an opportunity to showcase all of their skills. A student might sing lead vocals on one song; play drums on another song and belt out a saxophone solo on another.
Additional Classes
In addition to instrumental and vocal lessons in San Juan Capistrano, we also offer classes for students interesting in songwriting and recording. Our facility boasts both a full professional analog recording studio as well as a secondary digital studio. After attending writing workshops, students can work with our on-site professional engineer to produce their own original music.
For our most advanced musicians, we also now offer an AP Music Theory class, which is led by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music Composition. The curriculum for this course will prepare your teen for the AP Music Theory exam.
