Alternative Music Lessons: A Rock School For Ladera Ranch Kids, Teens
For some students, a classical approach to learning an instrument is fine, but for others, spending hours learning tunes such as “Hot Cross Buns” and scales can be a bit of a drag. At Los Rios Rock School, we provide an alternative musical experience: a rock school for Ladera Ranch children and teens.
Our performance-based approach to teaching truly inspires students and gets them excited about music and even practicing. Students learn how to play an instrument using music they truly love. In just a few lessons, Ladera Ranch rock school students will be able to play some of their favorite songs. But that’s not all that students love about Los Rios Rock School.
Your monthly tuition includes a full, one-hour weekly lesson with an experienced instructor as well as an authentic rock band experience. Our Ladera Ranch rock school students are organized into real bands, practice their set lists during group jam sessions and perform live at top local venues such as the House of Blues, the Coach House and Stillwater.
The lessons, the practice sessions and the shows are all included in the monthly fees. We can teach Ladera Ranch rock school students to play virtually any instrument, including drums, guitar, piano & keyboards, saxophone, clarinet and more, as well as providing voice lessons. In addition, they are free to learn an instrument using any genre of music they enjoy including rock, pop, country, blues, folk, soul or whatever else they like.
We also offer a great deal of flexibility for Ladera Ranch rock school students. If your child wishes to learn multiple instruments, we can accommodate this as well. Many of our Ladera Ranch rock school students will split a lesson into two parts and spend 30 minutes on guitar and the other 30 minutes on voice instruction or perhaps clarinet and piano or drums and bass guitar. We can mix it up any way you want. This is an excellent option for a student who might want to practice an instrument they are using at school, while learning skills on a new instrument, such as electric guitar.
Our instructors are all professional musicians in working bands with live performance experience as well as album production experience. In addition to our regular live music program detailed above, our instructors also lead classes in songwriting, production and music theory. Students can learn how to write their own music and produce it. Our live shows often feature the original compositions of our talented rock school students!
Our newest offering is an AP Music Theory class for experienced musicians preparing for the college level Advanced Placement Music Theory exam. This course is taught by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music Composition.
We are also the only facility that features top-of-the-line professional gear. The kids can learn using the best new and vintage equipment available. Not only can they learn to play songs from musicians that they love, they can use the same quality instruments and equipment that these professional musicians use.
