2. Live Performances Boost Confidence
At Los Rios Rock School, we don’t just offer fun vocal lessons in an exciting setting, we put kids up on stage and provide them with opportunities to showcase their skills. Several times throughout the year, we host live rock shows at top local venues, such as the Coach House, Stillwater and the House of Blues, as well as our own private stage, The Lobby.
Students are organized into groups by ability, create set lists, and practice during weekly jam sessions. These set lists might include a special theme or perhaps a mix of songs and styles. After weeks of practicing, it’s time for the big show and the kids do all the work, providing the live vocals as well as playing virtually all the instruments including guitars, drums, keyboards, piano and more.
Not only will your child enjoy the camaraderie of mingling with other students at the weekly practice sessions, the live performance experience will boost their confidence and self-esteem. As a side note, we also should mention that both the weekly practice sessions and the weekly private lesson are included in your monthly tuition fees.
3. A Versatile Program To Fit Your Needs
While Ladera Ranch vocal lessons might be your focus, if your child or teen also wishes to learn how to play an instrument, we have options for that as well. Many of our students split their weekly private lesson, spending 30 minutes on one instrument and 30 minutes on another. For instance, you could spend half of your time working on vocal instruction and the remainder on electric or acoustic guitar. Again, students also have the opportunity to learn and perform using our selection of the best professional and vintage gear in the music business.
Our experienced instructors can teach virtually any instrument including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, ukulele, drums, saxophone, piano & keyboards, clarinet and much more. These instruments will be taught using music your child enjoys. In fact, within just a few weeks, your child will learn how to play entire songs that they love rather than sticking with old standards such as “Mary Had a Little Lamb.”
4. We Offer More Than Other Schools
Los Rios Rock School offers much more than weekly lessons and live performance opportunities. For instance, we are an accredited music school, and we offer an AP Music Theory class for our most advanced students. This class, which prepares students for the AP Music Theory exam, is led by an instructor with a Ph.D. in Music composition.
We also offer songwriting classes, where students will learn how to arrange and create their own original music. In fact, our live performances often feature original songs written by Los Rios Rock School students.
After writing the songs, students also can take production classes and learn how to produce their own music. Our facility includes a fully professional analog recording studio as well as a secondary digital studio. We also have an instructor who is a professional recording engineer, providing budding songwriters with a fantastic, real-life production experience.
